History
The All People's Congress was formed at Elba Street on 20th March 1960. The founding members were: Pa Muctarru Kallay, Hon. Kawusu Konte, Abu B. S. Bangura. Allieu Badarr Koroma, Alhaji Gibril Sesey, Hon. C. A. Kamara-Taylor, Hon. S. A. T. Koroma

In elections held on 17 March 1967, the APC won and Stevens was appointed Prime Minister,
After a brief period of military rule, Stevens reassumed the post of Prime Minister on 26 April 1968.
